When we create products and collections, we view each object as a whole and design it from within. We believe in good preparation. We want to understand the core of the task and do not shy away from investing a lot of time in discussions, briefings and sketches in order to work out the essence of a topic and form a new and meaningful product character from it.
From the first concept sketch through the drafting of a design language to rendering, from the material study to the development of colours and surfaces, from the first idea to the finished product – every step at Carsten Gollnick Design serves to create things that their users appreciate and whose design and functional sophistication people will enjoy on a daily basis for a long time to come.
With over 100 product launches since 1997, we have already achieved this.

Creating a product group with a unique character and a harmonious relationship to the world and to itself requires considerable experience and empathy. The nurturing and careful further development of existing collections and editions is also a demanding and responsible task that gives us great pleasure – and can contribute to the lasting success of a series or a brand. Analysing, supporting, supplementing, modernising and also protecting design collections and product ranges have been part of the consulting and design services at Carsten Gollnick Design for many years. The latest scientific findings and current socio-cultural conditions are always taken into account in our conceptual considerations and are an important component in the creative development and expansion of each product collection.

Alongside industrially manufactured products, we are placing increasing emphasis on handcrafted manufactured products. We emphasise the focused and sensitive examination of specific functions and aesthetic material contexts of individual living environments. The reactivation of handcrafted design processes and forms of production is of great importance to us.
