JARDIM – the colours of late summer in Portugal. 

The idea of working with the red Portuguese ceramic mass was born out of a desire to honour the deep red-brown colours of the Alentejo soil. 
The matt, dark red colour of the clay was left unglazed and open on the visible sides to emphasise the beauty and dignified simplicity of the material. As a functional aspect and aesthetic contrast, a glossy glaze was applied in the areas that come into contact with food. However, the collection should not only inspire aesthetically, but should also be extremely robust and highly functional for gastronomy.
Thanks to our collaboration with an excellent partner in Portugal, who is able to process this red clay and fire it at high temperatures to make it very hard, we were able to achieve our goal. In this creative process, we have succeeded in translating our puristic and stringent design language into a harmonious interplay of form and colour.
We were particularly impressed by the fascinating possibilities of coloured glazes and the Portuguese tradition of ceramic colouring. JARDIM not only represents a product line, but also a feeling - the essence of the colours and emotions of the Portuguese late summer, which is expressed in every single creation.
